According to a report in the Miami Herald, the Miami Dolphins have alerted the hosts of The Finsiders, that their weekday show on WINZ-AM will be discontinued at the end of the month. The move suggests that an exit from WINZ’s parent company, iHeart Media could be forthcoming.
Sources say that the team hasn’t decided yet on who they will partner with to air their games next season. WQAM is thought to be the likely destination, but 790 The Ticket has also talked with the franchise, and current rightsholder WINZ remains confident that they’re in contention.
The Dolphins don’t plan to keep and finance the Finsiders show if they do make a move to another radio station. The team does control the choice of announcers, and all indications are that nothing will change with any future radio deal.
