For the first time in over a decade the Houston Astros will be on the radio in Acadiana. Delta Media Corporation announces 103.7 The Game is the home for the defending American League Wild Card Champions for the upcoming 2016 Major League Baseball season.
“We are thrilled to be the exclusive providers of Astros baseball on the radio in Lafayette,” said Delta Media Corp General Manager Chuck Wood. “The Astros have such a young and exciting team, 103.7 The Game will be there for what can be an incredible season.”
Astros coverage on 103.7 The Game begins on Opening Day, April 4 at 12:05PM when Houston takes on the New York Yankees. Houston radio broadcasters Robert Ford & Steve Sparks are entering their fifth season together in the booth. 103.7 The Game will air over 100 Astros games this season with the remaining (LSU conflicts) games airing on sister station 1330 KVOL.
“It’s been a major priority for the organization to grow the Astros radio footprint throughout Texas and Louisiana,” said Astros President of Business Operations Reid Ryan. “There are a lot of Astros fans in Lafayette and this partnership with 103.7 The Game ensures Astros baseball with be easily accessible to them on the radio.”
103.7 The Game, the LSU Tigers Radio Network local affiliate and Acadiana’s exclusive home to the NFL and SuperBowl 51, airs SportsChat w/Dave Schultz weekday mornings at 6:00 AM, The Alan Michael Show, at 9:00 AM, The Jordy Hultberg Show, weekday afternoons at 2:00 PM and Bumper to Bumper Sports with Ben Love weekday afternoons at 4:00 PM.
