Two Cumberland County sports talk radio stations are being sold to Pennsylvania-based Colonial Media and Entertainment, according to the buyer.
Colonial announced Saturday it is buying WFAY of Fayetteville and WFBX of Spring Lake. They have been operated by CRS Radio Holdings, according to records with the Federal Communications Commission.
WFAY and WFBX are the Fayetteville area’s ESPN radio outlets. The company says the stations will retain their formats, which Colonial described as ideal for this market.
When the deal is complete, Colonial will operate 18 stations in five markets across four states.
