As we revealed last week, J.C Corcoran is officially moving to middays on KFNS where he will team up with Bob Ramsey and Jeff Vernetti. Ramsey and Vernetti left CBS Sports 920 to return to KFNS.
Corcoran still believes he’s best suited for mornings but understood that the new ownership group wanted to make changes. He says he’s glad that the situation worked out with him being able to join forces with Bob and Jeff in middays, two guys he considers industry friends. The trio will be on the air weekdays from 11a-1p.
With J.C moving to his new spot, the station will offer a new morning show, led by Dave Rapp and Matt Berger. The new morning program will air weekdays from 6a-8a. Rapp and Berger are said to be a more sports focused program.
In making those changes, Howard Balzer shifts from 11a-1p to a new timeslot of 1p-3p and Kevin Slaten remains installed in afternoons from 3p-6p. The station is dropping Jim Rome’s nationally syndicated program.
New station owners Scott Gertken and Randy Merkel have hit the ground running in their attempt to return KFNS to prominence. 2016 will tell us whether or not those efforts are recognized and valued by the local audience.
