The New England Patriots and WEEI in Boston have reached an agreement on a new three-year for the broadcasting rights to “Patriots Monday” and “Patriots Friday”, two weekly programming initiatives during football season that put the Super Bowl champions’ quarterback Tom Brady on Monday editions of WEEI’s Dennis and Callahan morning show, head coach Bill Belichick on the afternoon Dale and Holley show on Monday’s, and various Patriots players on Monday’s midday show with former Red Sox player Lou Merloni, former Patriots Tight End Christian Fauria and radio personality Tim Benz as well as all day Friday’s. The Monday appearances began in 1995, and Friday’s were added in 2008. Patriots play-by-play airs on crosstown sports station 98.5 The Sports Hub.
Patriots VP of Corporate Sales Murray Kohl said, “The WEEI Monday and Friday shows have become appointment listening for Patriots fans, not just in Boston and New England, but throughout the country and around the world. It is the only platform that allows fans an opportunity to listen to extended interviews with Coach Belichick and Tom Brady. We are proud to extend our partnership with WEEI on our Patriots Monday programming, which debuted on their station 20 years ago.”
Entercom Boston VP/Market Manager Phil Zachary added, “The Patriots are New England’s team and WEEI is the voice of New England sports. From Boston to Springfield, Providence to Portland, Cape Cod to Concord Lakes, the WEEI Sports Radio Network is proud to be the standard bearer for this great seasonal programming on-air with our broadcast affiliates, on-line and on-demand at WEEI.com.”
