Do you know what Millennial sports fans are up to? You know they live their lives online, so they’re spending a lot of time on social media. So far, so good — but there’s a lot more to it than that.
At Radio Ink‘s Sports Radio Conference (March 4-5 in Dallas), Jason Barrett, PD of KGMZ-FM (The Game) in San Francisco, will lead a conversation with four college-age sports fans from Texas Christian University to get a better understanding of how they consume sports media and audio.
These listeners are hard to capture and even harder to please, and at this “focus group”-style session, you’ll hear these young people’s candid assessment of sports media, and especially Sports radio. These students are getting sports info instantly from Facebook, Twitter, and other online outlets. So what is Sports radio’s place in their lives? (Does it even have one?) If your station is visible and active on social media, are you sure you’re making the right impression on younger, digitally savvy fans?
This session will be fast, frank, and probably even uncomfortable at times — and that’s why you need to be there. This is information crucial for your future, and you can’t hear it anywhere else.
